Here It is, The Smallest Christmas Card in the World!

Speciality in Nanotechnology at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, make new breakthroughs. They created a Christmas card which is claimed as the world's smallest Christmas card, which as many as 8276 cards can be affixed to a stamp-sized paper.

Professor David Cumming and Dr. Qin Chen a Christmas card from superkecil glass crystal material which has a carved image topped Christmas tree. Scientists said the production of Christmas cards that only takes 30 minutes.

"Manufacturing process is very fast and instant. In addition, can also be done repeatedly. What takes longer is the process of designing a Christmas tree picture," said Cumming.

Christmas card has a size of the smallest width of 200 micrometers and 290 micrometers thick. The size is approximately one tenth of a human hair thick. A total of 500,000 Christmas cards that smallest be arranged on A5 paper.

Colorful Christmas card this superkecil made by a process called plasmon resonance, which uses a patterned aluminum film production of James Watt Nanofabrication Centre.

However, despite a mini Christmas card this is just a demonstration, the technology it uses so real. Through this Christmas card-making, scientists want to communicate just how influential nanotechnology today.

"Our Nanotechnology is one of the best in the world. However, sometimes it's hard to explain to the public. We then decided to make this Christmas card just shows how accurate this technology," said Cumming.
